Results

The results of SafeLMD will be published successively as the project progresses. The partnership develops for the education and training of LMD cyclists:

  • A competency framework describing the specific requirements for last mile delivery cyclists
  • Definition of evidence-based, measurable and assessable learning outcomes for tailor-made educational offers
  • Open Educational Materials (OERs) for formal and non-formal education
  • Open Online Course and e-book for learners in all partner languages (including Arabic for migrants/refugees) to enable flexible, personalised learning pathways
  • A statement of support for the social recognition of occupational profile & skills requirements LMD cyclists

R1. COMMON COMPETENCE FRAMEWORK FOR WORKERS IN URBAN BIKE-BASED LAST MILE DELIVERIES

The Partnership has developed a research methodology that serves as a guide for additional skills data collection activities and complements existing labor market information on skills needs and gaps. Specifically, it provides an overview of current skills data in bicycle-based last-mile logistics.

The collected data has been stored in an online registry. The registry provides open access to information on sustainable/safe LMD skill needs and training opportunities.

Based on the findings and data from the online registry, a skills matrix for bicycle and e-bike-based urban delivery and the occupational requirements for LMD cyclists was developed.

The matrix documents the profile of individuals currently employed in relevant positions (including skills availability) and outlines the green and safety skills LMD cyclists need for safe routes and deliveries, while also identifying prevailing skills gaps in the labor market.
